About

Campus Jaguars LIT MAGAZINE manifested from a desire to acknowledge and exhibit the talent of Campus artists and writers. As an English teacher, I have always made it a priority to showcase student art and written work, to communicate to students how they should take pride in their work, and to demonstrate that their efforts in the classroom, their achievements, are appreciated and rewarded.

Overtime, students have shared their written and artistic pieces with me, and being that there was no creative outlet to further exhibit their talent, the idea and opportunity for a literary magazine really just presented itself. More and more students tell me about a story they're writing, some share a notebook or journal full of written poems, reflections, or short tales. Artists unveil their doodles or drawings from sketchbooks or mini canvases.

Well, now the LIT MAG is lighting the path for them to shine, and it is truly a gift and honor to be the advisor of such magnificent and creative vessels.

Mission

To compile original written and artistic work into a creative published magazine for public indulgence. To provide freedom of expression and an inspiring outlet for visionaries in the realm of literacy and art. To demonstrate the respect, recognition and reward attributed to those gifted with

the power of words and artistry.

Vision

Shakespeare wrote "...When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee." Toni Morrison said "If writing is thinking and discovery and selection and order and meaning, it is also awe and reverence and mystery and magic." For art, Michelangelo said, "“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” For each individual, that is the vision; their own unique purpose and intention.
